# Cloud infrastructure & integrations

> Deployments, CI/CD, email, storage and third-party APIs wired together so releases are routine and integrations fail loudly, not silently.

Cloud infrastructure and integrations cover everything around the application code: how a change gets from the repository to production, where environments and secrets live, and how the system exchanges data with email, storage and other services’ APIs.

Releases that depend on one person, data copied between systems by hand and integrations that can fail without anyone noticing are the usual reasons to start. A new product benefits too: an automated pipeline is easier to start with than to add later.

Outcome: Routine releases and observable integrations.

## Typical needs

- Manual deployments that only one person knows how to do
- Systems that should exchange data but don’t
- Secrets and settings scattered across machines and inboxes

## What you receive

- Automated builds, checks and deployments on every change
- Integrations with signature verification, retries and logging
- Environments, secrets and access documented, with least privilege

## How the work runs.

1. Write down what runs where: Environments, secrets, accounts and the manual release steps are listed first, so a deployment can be run from the written steps alone.
2. One pipeline for every change: Each change runs lint, type checks, tests and a build in CI before it can be deployed, and production is deployed from the main branch, not from someone’s machine.
3. Integrations that fail loudly: Incoming webhooks are verified by signature, outgoing calls are retried where that is safe, and every outcome is logged with a request identifier rather than the content.
4. Least privilege, written down: Each service gets only the keys and access it needs, secrets live in the platform’s environment settings instead of code or chat, and the setup is documented for whoever takes the system over next.

## Technologies

- Vercel
- Supabase
- GitHub Actions
- Resend
- Docker

## In practice

Pametni Advokat runs on Supabase (database, sign-in, document storage) and Vercel, and calls the OpenAI API from the server.

## About this service.

### How is this different from APIs, backend architecture & PostgreSQL?

Backend work designs the data model, the business rules and the API inside your application. This service covers what surrounds it: the pipeline that builds and deploys it, the environments and secrets it runs with, and its connections to email, storage and other companies’ APIs. Most projects need both, and they are often done together.

### Which systems can you integrate with?

Services with a documented API or webhooks: email delivery and file storage, AI providers, and other companies’ systems your application exchanges data with. Each integration is documented — what it sends, which keys it uses and where they are kept, and what happens when it fails — so it can be run by someone who did not build it.

### Do we have to move to a new platform?

Not necessarily. The first step is to document what already runs — environments, secrets, access and manual steps — and then automate it on the platform you already use, one step at a time. A move to another platform is proposed only when there is a clear reason for it.
